MTS Security System Features

Micro-Touch Security System Features

The Standard MTS (Micro Touch Security) system includes:

1 – High-Tech microprocessor based MTS Brain
2 – Security (User coins)
1 – Dash mounted LED light
1 – Dash mounted Digital Probe
1 – 30 amp Starter Relay
1 – Audible Piezo Beeper
1 – Passive Door Entry Trigger Switch
1 – Standard Override Feature
1 – Standard Valet Park Feature

The MTS system operates by the vehicle operator entering the vehicle. The LED light will be blinking RED. At this time, the operator will touch the MTS security coin against the dash mounted digital probe. Next an audible one-second beep will be acknowledged by the piezo. Once the beep is heard the operator will notice the LED light has changed from the blinking Red light to a solid Green light. This means the vehicle may be started and driven. The system will only rearm once the engine has been turned off and the driver’s door has been opened and closed one time.

If the vehicle is attempted to be started without using the MTS security coin the LED will turn a solid Red when the key is turned on and the starter will be disabled and the vehicle will NOT start!

The Override feature is easy to operate and works simply by touching the MTS security coin against the digital probe once the vehicle has been started. The LED will now constantly blink Green and the MTS system is in override and will not rearm until the MTS security coin is used again with the vehicle turned off.

The Valet Park feature is turned on and off the same way, except to enter the Valet Park mode you must touch the coin against the digital probe twice. Touch the MTS security coin once wait a second or so and then touch it again. The LED will constantly flash alternating between Green and Red. This feature allows the operator to leave the vehicle with a car wash or valet parking attendant, etc. The MTS systems Valet Park mode will ONLY allow this person to operate the vehicle for a maximum of five minutes. If the engine has been running for more than five minutes the next time the vehicle is attempted to be started, it will fail. This feature is something that should be mentioned to the attendant and should deter them from any extended drives or theft of the vehicle.

Additional Features:
Honking Car Horns
Door Entry Alarm
Passive (Battery) Override
Carjacking
Ignition Controlled Doorlocks
Siren instead of honking car horn
Honking Car Horns:

Honking car horns will aid in deterring theft of the vehicle. Once the ignition key is turned to the "on" position and left on for more than six seconds the vehicle's horn will sound. The horn will alternate honking, one second on then one second off, for a period of five minutes.

The honking car horn feature especially enhances the valet park feature. If a valet parking attendant is out joy riding the vehicle the horn will start sounding once the vehicle has been running for five minutes. If the attendant pulls the vehicle over to the side of the road and turns off the engine, it will not restart without the MTS security coin and the horn will remain honking.

Door Entry Alarm:

Once this feature has been programmed into the MTS system control brain the piezo will beep every time the door is opened and the system is armed. If the MTS security coin is not touched to the digital dash probe within 15 seconds the car horn will begin to sound. If the MTS security coin is not present closing the door will keep the horn from sounding, if closed within the 15-second time frame.

Passive (Battery) Override:

This feature, if programmed, will make the MTS system power up armed when the vehicle's battery is reconnected.

Carjacking:

The carjacking feature, once programmed, should deter unwanted persons from stealing the vehicle at gunpoint or forcing the operator out of the vehicle. If the vehicle operator is told to hand over the vehicle while driving, the opening of the driver's door will trigger the Carjacking Feature. The vehicle will travel for approximately one minute then it will give a warning tone from the piezo for 15 seconds. After the warning tone, the car horn will automatically sound. Once the vehicle has come to a stop and the engine is turned off the engine will NOT restart.

Ignition Controlled Doorlocks:

This feature is recommended if the vehicle is equipped with factory power door locks. Once the MTS system has been disarmed and the vehicle has been started, one second later the vehicle's doors will automatically lock. Once the engine has been turned off the doors will automatically unlock.

Siren instead of Honking Horns:

This feature can be programmed in the event the vehicle was never equipped with a horn or it is not operational.
